Taiwo Awe is an enthusiastic 21st Century educator who believes in 21st-century learning strategies. He studied at the prestigious University of Ibadan where he bagged his first degree in Economics Education, finishing with a Second-Class Upper Division. He also holds a Masters Degree in the same field of study from the University of Lagos.
Taiwo has over ten years of teaching experience in both Nigerian and British schools. He has over seven years’ experience in the Cambridge curriculum at both IGCSE and A’ level, teaching Economics and Business Studies. He was promoted in 2019 in his former place of work to a management position as the Vice Principal Administration. However, he could not continue with the school because of the need to explore other curriculums, having developed a mastery of the British Curriculum.
He is a member of the Cambridge Institute of Education, Nigerian Institute of Management, the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, Association of International Schools Educators of Nigeria, and a Continuous Professional Coordinator under the umbrella of AISEN. Awe joined Maple Canadian College in August 2019 under the leadership of Mr. Hanley Roger, working as a course teacher in both Business Leadership and Economics. Because of his teaching skills, over ninety percent of the students in the two courses he taught excelled tremendously with outstanding grades, hence, endearing him to the students.
Taiwo also introduced the blended learning strategies and flipped learning style in Maple Canadian College and these have contributed to quality learning output in the school. In addition, Awe’s productive contribution to the teaching-learning activity at MCC and with amazing and result-oriented ideas added another feather to his career in this academic field. He was promoted to the position of Acting Principal after the former principal left.
In conclusion, Awe believes in the holistic development of a total child in such a way that all the domains (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective) are positively impacted. Taiwo is happily married to Kehinde Awe and they are blessed with three kids: David, Destiny, and Daniella.
